Sherri Irby, Administrative Assistant

Children’s Cancer Network – and especially Patti – welcomes with open arms Sherri Irby, our new administrative assistant! Sherri joins us after 30 years of elementary teaching for Mesa Public Schools. After retiring, Sherri had also substituted for two years and volunteered at a shelter for women in need, where she held a card making class for them. Having volunteered for the past year with CCN, Sherri knew this was a place where she wanted to be…a new career where she can once again make a difference in the lives of families. Married to John, they have two grown children, Lisa and James. In her spare time, Sherri enjoys creating and designing cards, invitations and projects with her “Stampin’Up” collection. When Sherri is not working she enjoys traveling with her family to the beach or mountains, having an evening out with friends, or relaxing with her dogs in her own backyard.

Zaina Innabi, Intern

Zaina is entering her senior year and finishing a BS in Public Health at the University of Arizona. After graduation, she plans to get a dual degree with a Masters in Business Administration and a Masters in Public Health with a focus on Hospital Administration. She is excited to be working with the Children’s Cancer Network to gain experience in how a nonprofit works, to educate the families, and to apply what she has learned in the classroom to the CCN community. She looks forward to an amazing summer at Children’s Cancer Network!

Gloria Aksentowitz, Encore Fellow

Gloria joined the Children’s Cancer Network in February 2014, following her retirement from Intel Corporation where she worked over 16 years in Corporate Marketing. As an Encore Fellow placed through Experience Matters, Gloria is delighted to be matched up with Children’s Cancer Network through early 2015. She not only hopes to leverage her broad experience in marketing to support this worthy organization, additionally she is looking to gain valuable experience in the nonprofit sector where she plans to have her “encore career”.
